This Friday!

What's up everybody so glad you're here,
It's Rachel Peters with the flow back in your ear.
I ain't the fantastic four, but I'm still on a mission,
To see if I can get your attention...
Now I'd like to drop some information,
Just a little attitude for your education.

This Friday, we will be participating in Hallowe'en festivities! But instead of mooching off all of the neighbours, we'll be going door to door giving out candy and invitations to church/youth/sunday school at Cornerstone. Then, Onesfore from Burundi will be speaking with us about spiritual warfare. We'll head over to the Dyck's house for the end of the night.

Your rides can drop you off at the church at 7:00 and pick you up from the Dyck's at 10:30. They live on 29 Grange Crescent. (905) 468-7364.

See you Friday.

Special props for anyone who can identify the above song without cheating.

Hay Ride!

Ok, as you all know, this Friday is the hayride!!! (i'm sure you've all lost sleep due to the extreme excitement and anticipation...). Anyways, there are a few details you need to know before you show up.

1. The hayride starts at 7:30 at the Rowaan's (962 Line 8).

2. We'll be having a time of worship/singing together and a special guest speaker will be sharing with us. Then we'll be off to the hay wagons. We'll be back for snacks and some hanging out time and then the evening will end at 10:30/11:00.

3. Please bring $2.00 to help cover the costs of hay/snacks etc.

4. We want everyone to enjoy the evening and to be safe, so make sure you are being considerate of others. No one is to chase/attack/go after anyone they do not know, anyone of the opposite gender, or anyone who does not want to be involved in any hay 'activities'. There will be one wagon at the front of the caravan designated for those who wish to remain on the wagon for the entire ride, and stay dry, warm and hay-free.

5. There won't be any washrooms, so make sure you go before you come (don't I sound like a mom...)

Hope you guys are excited. Again, if there are any questions, or if you need a ride or directions, message us or give us a ring.

Seeeeee you soooooon!

Message from Bri and the GUS girls

This week I think that we'll have Bible Study at my house, because youth is at Brian and Erin's. It will probably be at 5:30 because of the PA day. So here's the deal:
- at my house
- 5:30 pm
- remember to bring all of your pot luck stuff

Talk to you later!

Bri

I know it's only Monday....

Alright. I know it's early in the week, and most of you probably are still waking up from the weekend, but we want to give you a big HEADS UP for Friday!

This Friday is our first potluck of the year! Erin and Brian Rowaan (who some of you may know...) have invited us to their home to test out our potlucking skills! We will be spending the evening at their house.

Soooo.....some of you may be wondering, what does this potluck entail?!? Well, have no fear, attached is a list of suggestions. We don't want anyone to worry or stress about what to bring, or think that they need to ask their mother to make a rack of lamb or roast duck. All you need to do is bring a dish of something for about 6-8 people. Show up with your food at 7:00 at Brian and Erin's. We will be hanging out, eating, and probably playing some games, so feel free to bring some games!

We are really enjoying meeting early for a time of prayer, so remember that you are all welcome to join us before youth (6:30 this time! at Brian and Erin's). If you want to share prayer requests, or pray for others, or even just to sit in and be there during the prayer time, come on out!

K, here's the details. Brian and Erin live on Line 8, number 962 (coming from Virgil, on Creek Rd., turn left on Line 8, their driveway is on the left, just a minute down the road). Their number is (905)262-1859. Have your rides pick you up their at 10:00-10:30.

Lastly, here are some tasty potluck suggestions. feel free to be more creative if you so choose. remember, it's a bunch of youth, like yourselves, lets not be picky or go crazy if we don't want too, we love food, all sorts! It would be great if you messaged or posted what you are bringing to help inspire people, and so we have no repeats!

- salad (any kind, pasta, green, fruit, bean, jello)
- dips with bread, veggies, crackers, pitas, nachos, etc. (ie. hummus, artichoke, spinach, onion)
- chicken wings
- meatballs
- cheese! everyone loves cheese!
- pizza
- a big tub of chili
- cooked veggies
- potatoes of any kind (mashed, boiled, fried, etc.)
- fancy sandwiches
- garlic bread
- a shrimp ring (don't forget the seafood sauce)
- a big steak (we'll cut it up and each have a bite)
- mini sausage rolls
- shishkabobs (oooh, that could be fun for the creative types!)
- cold cuts and cheese with buns
- the possibilities are ENDLESS!!!

Let us know if you need more details, or a ride, or anything! See you Friday. I'm already excited for this!
